It was a chilly morning on November 9, 2021, but that didn't stop close to 60 golfers from competing in the Mesquite Senior Games Golf Celebration! The Mesquite Sports & Event Complex was the venue for the Long Drive that morning and after our competitors showed us their long game we all headed over to the Oasis Golf Club. It was there that history was made with our first ever Closest to the Pin (KP) competition! The following morning we all met at the beautiful 18 hole putting course at Sun City Mesquite where we got to see our seniors' putting skills. After lunch we were back at the Oasis for an honor guard presentation put on by Mesquite's own Veterans group followed by our first ever 9 hole tournament on the front nine of the Canyons. But that wasn't the end of this two day golf celebration! Local bagpiper, Dennis Hangey delighted our golfers as they returned to the clubhouse after the tournament all set for our first ever awards presentation dinner. At dinner we were entertained by the music of local jazz band, Dry Heat, and the humor of TC Morgan. Lots of smiles that night!
