Long Drive on “The Grid” – Home of the World Long Drive Championship

Open to Pros and Amateurs

(all times approximate)
– 8:00am: Check-in / Range Open for Practice
– 9:00am: Women Called to Tee – Hitting Oldest to Youngest Divisions
– 9:30am: Men, 70+ Called to Tee – Hitting Oldest to Youngest Divisions
– 10:30am: Men, 50-69 Called to Tee – Hitting Oldest to Youngest Divisions

$20 MSG Registration + $10 event fee (Deadline: 4:00pm event eve)

Notes, Standards, and Etiquette:
– Amateurs only  in amateur category – Amateur means no PGA status, never competed in a professional long drive competition
– Entry includes 1 bucket of practice balls (approx 30)
– Clubs must conform to USGA / LDA standards – Maximum Tee Length: 4″

– Please abide by the norms of golf dress and etiquette

Format and Scoring:
– Seeding by random draw
– Each player has 2 sessions on the grid, hitting 4 balls each session
– Balls and 2.75″ to 4″ tees provided – Grid is 75 yards wide
– Two hitters at a time – Hit four balls within 3 minutes – Ball must land and stay inbounds
– Reseed for 2nd round by inverse of placement – Random Draw if tie
– Longest drive counts towards placement (measured perpendicular from tee line)
– Drives within 6 inches of each other count as a “tie” – 3-Ball Shootout breaks tie for medals

– I-15, exit 120, north on Falcon Ridge Pkwy, west on Hardy Way, right on World Champions Way

    • Hi Daniel,

      If you have ever competed in a professional long drive event, that we would consider you a pro. Otherwise, as an amateur, you would be most welcome! Just go to our Registration page and either download the form and mail it in or use the online registration button.

  3. If I turn 50 August 1 2017 am I eligable

    • Hi Dan,

      Yes. Mesquite Senior Games goes by the age you are at the end of the year. So, age as of 12/31/2017. Hope to see you there!

  4. What is the date for the 2018 games, and if I turn 70 in June 2018,will I be able to compete in the 70+ age group?

    • Hi Mike – In all events, yes – EXCEPT Track and Field which goes by the age you are on competition day.
